Account Numbering
When you plan your work breakdown structure, you establish an account number structure.
Numbering Format
Your account numbers can be up to 11 characters long, including one delimiter. The minimum length is three characters. The default is six characters with a period (.) as a delimiter in the fourth position (for example, 123.45).
Accounts are organized into ranges (for example, accounts 100.00 to 199.99 are asset accounts and 200.00 to 299.99 are liability accounts).
Standard Chart of Accounts
A Standard Chart of Accounts is included with Vision. You can modify the Standard Chart of Accounts by changing account numbers or names or by changing the starting and ending account numbers for your account categories.
When deciding whether or not to modify your chart of accounts, keep in mind that you can create Account Group tables to group any number of accounts on reports, regardless of whether they appear sequentially in the chart of accounts.
