Embed a Dashboard View in a Web Page
To share the contents of a dashboard view with others, you can embed it in a Web page. For example, you could add it to a blog, a wiki, or a Web application. Those who access the Web page can then view and interact with the dashboard.
Prerequisites:
- To share a view by embedding it in a Web page, you must be set up as an Interactor user in Tableau Server.
- The person you want to share a dashboard with in this way must be set up as a user in Tableau Server.
To share a performance dashboard view by embedding a link to it in a Web page, complete the following steps:
- Interact with the dashboard to create the view of the data that you want.
- Click in the lower left corner of the dashboard.
- To display the embedded dashboard with a fixed width and height, click Display Options in the Share View dialog box and enter the dimensions.
- To include the dashboard toolbar, click Display Options and select Show Toolbar.
- Select the HTML code in Embed and paste it into your Web page.
- Click Done.
When someone views the dashboard on the Web page, he or she accesses the view directly in Tableau Server, not in Vision. All automatic filters and filters you apply yourself are also applied to the view when it displays on the Web page.
