Map Your Retainage Accounts
After you create retainage accounts, you must link the retainage accounts to invoice and accounts receivable accounts.
The retainage account that you specify for each invoice account is a temporary holding account for outstanding retainage amounts. After you release a project's retainage for billing from Interactive Billing, this retainage amount is removed from the temporary account and posted to the accounts receivable account.
To map your retainage accounts, complete the following steps:
- From the Vision Navigation menu, click .
- On the Accounts Receivable Configuration form, click the Invoice Mapping Accounts tab.
- Click Insert on the grid. You can also create a new mapping by selecting an existing mapping line, clicking Copy on the grid, and modifying the fields for the new line.

Map one or more retainage accounts, depending on how you are storing retainage before retainage is billed.
To map a single account, create one line. To map multiple accounts, create a separate line for each retainage account.
- In the Retainage Account field, enter or select the retainage account.
- Enter information in the Invoice Account, AR Account, AR Column, and Project Column fields.
- Click Save.
