Use the toolbar options to create, save, submit, delete, and view absence requests.

Field | Description |
Save
|
Click this option to save the information for the absence request that is currently displayed on the Absence Requests form.

New
|
Click this option to create a new absence request.
|
Submit
|
Click this option to submit an absence request for approval. You must select an absence type and at least one day of absence before you can submit the request.
The approval steps that take place after you submit the request are based on the approval workflow that is assigned to the absence type of the absence request. The approval workflow is enabled and specified on the Benefit Accrual Setup tab in
.

Approvals
|
This option displays if you are an approver for the current step of the approval workflow for the absence request. This option does
not display when you select an absence request for which the approval process has been completed.
When you click
Approvals, additional options display in a shortcut menu, based on the configuration of the approval workflow for a benefit accrual code. Possible options are:
- Approve — Click this option to approve an absence request. This opens the Approve dialog box, where you can optionally enter a comment for the approval. When you click
OK on the dialog box, the absence request is approved, and you are returned to the Absence Requests form.
- Reject — This option displays only if a reject action is configured for the current approval step for the approval workflow. (A reject action is selected in the
Reject Action field in the Approval Steps grid on the Workflow tab in Approval Workflows Configuration.)
Click this option to reject an absence request. On the Reject dialog box, you must enter a comment for the rejection. When you click
OK on the dialog box, the absence request is rejected, and you are returned to the Absence Requests form.
- Reassign — This option always displays if you are the approval administrator for the approval workflow. It also displays if you are an approver for the current approval step and the approval workflow is configured to allow reassigning. (The
Allow Approvers to Reassign check box on the General tab in Approval Workflows Configuration is selected.)
Click this option to add an assignment or reassign the approval step to another employee.

Delete
|
Click this option to delete the absence request that is currently displayed on the Absence Requests form. You will receive a message asking if you are sure that you want to delete it. Deleting cancels the absence request and it is completely removed from Vision.
You can delete an absence request before it is submitted. You can delete an in-progress absence request only if you are the person for whom the request applies (you are the requester). Requesters can delete an absence request at any time, even if it has been approved and completed.

View All Absence Requests
|
Click this option to open the View All Absence Requests dialog box and scroll through 31 days at a time to view the days submitted, approved, and/or rejected for multiple absence requests for one or more employees.
This can help you see overlapping days for which you may not have staff coverage in the office.
This option displays if any of the following apply:
- Absence requests are currently assigned to you to approve.
- You are the supervisor of employees (you are specified in the
Supervisor field on the General tab in the Employee Info Center for one or more employees).
- You are a timesheet group, company, or system administrator (designated in the Administration section of the Time Tab in the Employee Info Center).
