Run or Schedule the GovWin IQ Web Service Utility

Use the GovWin IQ Web Service utility to import opportunity data from GovWin IQ into Vision. You can use the utility to create new opportunities in Vision and, for existing opportunities, to update the related GovWin IQ opportunity information that is displayed on the IQ Info tab of the Opportunity Info Center.

You can run the utility immediately from the GovWin IQ Web Service form, or you can schedule it to run at a later time (after business hours or on weekends, for example).

An alternative method for importing new opportunities from GovWin IQ is to implement GovWin IQ integration with iAccess. Deltek recommends that method for a number of reasons. The import process brings into iAccess and Vision not only the opportunities you select but also the related primary clients, competitors, contacts, and milestones, if those are available in GovWin IQ. And if you use iAccess to import opportunities, you can still use the GovWin IQ Web Service utility to keep the data on the IQ Info tab of the Opportunity Info Center up to date.

To use the GovWin Web Service utility to import opportunity data from GovWin IQ:

1. If you want to import new opportunities from GovWin IQ, go to GovWin IQ and select those opportunities for downloading. You can also link opportunities that already exist in Vision to corresponding opportunities in GovWin IQ, and if the opportunity has the Active status in Vision, the transfer process will update opportunity information in Vision based on the information in GovWin IQ. To link a Vision opportunity to a GovWin IQ opportunity, enter the GovWin IQ opportunity ID in the IQ ID field on the IQ Info tab in the Opportunities Info Center. For Tracked Opportunities in GovWin IQ that you link in this way, you do not also need to select the opportunity for downloading in GovWin IQ. However, other types of opportunities in GovWin IQ (Bid Notifications, Task Orders, and so on) must be selected for downloading in GovWin IQ if you want the import process to update the information for them in Vision.
2. From the Vision Navigation menu, click Utilities > Advanced Utilities > GovWin IQ Web Service.
3. Complete one of the following actions:

   Option	Description
   To perform the import immediately	Click Run. Vision displays a warning message to tell you this action will make permanent changes to the database.
   To schedule the import to run at a later time	Click Schedule and complete the information on the Schedule dialog box.

4. After the import finishes, check the grid on the General tab of the GovWin IQ Web Service form.
   • If any errors or warning conditions occur during the data transfer, they display in the Message column.
   • If the import finishes without errors or warnings, the Message column displays two completion confirmation messages, one for the import of opportunities from GovWin IQ and a second for a process that checks for Vision opportunities that should be synchronized with GovWin IQ opportunities but for some reason are not. This second process should seldom, if ever, need to update data.
