Placing Transactions on Hold
You can use the Hold option on the Labor, Expenses, or Units tab of Interactive Billing to change the status of a transaction from billable, written-off, or deleted to held.
- You can put on hold either the entire amount or a portion of the amount. If you place a portion of the amount on hold, Vision creates a new line on the Labor, Expenses, or Units tab with the amount to hold. The original transaction line decreases by the amount marked Hold. To place a portion of a transaction on hold, you must select the transaction individually and click Hold.
- If you select the Release Holds Automatically option on the Billing Setup form, Vision releases all held transactions automatically after you accept a final invoice; otherwise they remain held until you manually release them.
- You can place a group of transactions on hold. If you select multiple transactions to place on hold, you must place the entire amount of each transaction on hold. When you select a group of transactions to be placed on hold, you can select any combination of project, phase, or task.
- You must belong to a role with the proper access rights to place billing transactions on hold.
If you want to change the billing status of many transactions, you may be able to do that more efficiently using the Update Billing Status form.
