Transaction Options Overview

The Labor, Expenses, and Units tabs of the Interactive Billing form list all Vision labor, expense, and unit transactions. On these tabs you can view transaction detail, mark transactions to be billed or held, or delete, insert, modify, transfer, or write off transactions.

If you selected a project with multiple WBS levels on the Phase/Task lookup, all detail for lower WBS levels display in the grid on the Labor, Expenses, or Units tab.

You can change a billing rate at any time in a billing rate table, in Billing Table Setup. The rate automatically updates in the Rate field in Interactive Billing but not for project reports at billing.

  • Viewing Billing Transactions
    Use the View option on the Labor, Expenses, or Units tab of the Interactive Billing form to view detailed information about a transaction, such as the original transaction entry source of the transaction.
  • Making Transactions Billable
    To make a transaction billable, you release it from a status of hold, write-off, or delete, indicating that you want to bill the client for this transaction charge when you accept the invoice.

    You can use the Hold option on the Labor, Expenses, or Units tab of Interactive Billing to change the status of a transaction from billable, written-off, or deleted to held.

    If you have labor, expense, or unit transactions that you do not want to bill at any time, you can mark these transactions to be deleted from Interactive Billing.
  • Inserting Billing Transactions
    To insert a labor, expense, or unit transaction on the billing side of Vision that has not been costed, you can insert the transaction in Billing.
  • Modifying Billing Transactions
    Use the Modify option to change the date, comment, description, hours, or amount/quantity for a transaction.
  • Transferring Billing Transactions
    Use the Transfer option on the Labor, Expenses, or Units tab of Interactive Billing to transfer labor hours and amounts, expense amounts, or unit amounts from project to project, or within the same project, without exiting Billing.
