Making Transactions Billable
To make a transaction billable, you release it from a status of hold, write-off, or delete, indicating that you want to bill the client for this transaction charge when you accept the invoice.
Transactions are marked to be billed by default, so if you are changing the status back to bill, this means the original, default status (bill) was changed. If you or someone in your company placed a transaction on hold or if you planned to write-off, or delete the transaction and you have not yet accepted the invoice, you can make it billable again by clicking Bill on the Labor, Expenses, or Units tab of Interactive Billing.
- You can bill either the entire amount or a portion of the amount by changing the hours for the employee. If you bill a portion of the amount, Vision creates a new line on the Labor, Expenses, or Units tab of Interactive Billing with the amount to bill. The original transaction line decreases by the amount marked as billable. To bill a portion of a transaction, you must select the transaction individually and click Bill.
- You can mark a group of transactions to be billed. If you select multiple transactions to make billable, you must make the entire amount of each transaction billable. When you select a group of transactions to be billed, you can select any combination of project, phase, or task.
If you want to change the billing status of many transactions, you may be able to do that more efficiently using the Update Billing Status form.
