Create Phase From Dialog Box

Use the Create Phase from dialog box to create a new phase from an existing project phase record or a project template.

Location

To display the dialog box, complete the following steps:

1. From the Vision Navigation menu, click Info Center > Projects.
2. On the Project Info Center toolbar, click New > Create Phase from.

Field	Description
Copy From	Use this drop-down list to select the type of record that you want to copy. The selection that you make determines which fields display. Copy From Existing Project displays two Project fields: Click Search in the first field to select an existing project with phases. Click Search in the second field to select the phase on which the new phase will be based. Copy From Project Template displays two Template Project fields: Click Search in the first field to select a project template with phases. Click Search in the second field to select the project template phase on which the new phase will be based.
New Phase	The first field displays the project number of the project receiving the new phase. The second field is blank. Enter the new phase number in this field. The phase number is the second level of the Work Breakdown Structure.
Short Name	This field displays the phase's short name, based on the project phase or project template phase that you selected to copy. You can edit the phase's short name. You can use a phase's short name if the phase's full name is too long to fully display on project reports and invoices.
Long Name	This field displays the phase's long name, based on the project phase or project template phase record that you selected to copy. You can edit the phase's long name.
