Valid Dimension and Measure Combinations on Reports

When you add dimensions and measures to a custom report, you must select a combination of valid dimensions and measures that have a relationship with each other. If you include dimensions and measures that have no relationship with each other, you see invalid data on the report.

An example of a dimension and measure that have no relationship is a labor dimension and a vendor measure. If you try to analyze labor costs and expense costs by labor code on a report, the labor cost displays correctly for each labor code, but the expense cost that displays for each labor code is the total expense cost for a project because there are no labor codes applied to expenses.
