Merge Code Toolbar in Microsoft Word
Use the Merge Code toolbar in Microsoft Word to add merge codes to a merge template for Vision custom proposals.
Merge codes determine the fields whose data you want to include in a proposal and some formatting for the data. You can also use the graphics buttons to place selected graphics in custom proposals and SF255 proposals.
Formatting Options
In general, Vision merges data in the format in which the data was entered into the database. The merge code macro toolbar provides additional formatting options for the following types of merge codes:
- Select Separator Format
- Select Date Format
- Select State/Province Format
- Select Number Format
- Select Date Format
- Select Custom Field Format
When you select a merge code of any of these types, the macro toolbar displays a formatting dialog box. You use the fields on the dialog box to specify the format to apply to the merged data in the completed custom proposal.
Location
After you install the macro toolbar on your workstation and open Microsoft Word, the merge code toolbar is in the toolbar area of Microsoft Word. In Microsoft Word 2007, click Add-ins to display the macro toolbar icons.
The Vision Release Notes list any new merge codes in each release. To access the new merge codes in a Vision software release, you must install the new software, navigate to
, download the DeltekWordMacro.dot, and save it as your new DeltekWordMacro.dot.Always use the macro toolbar to insert a merge code. Typing in a merge code causes damage to it, and it may not merge correctly.
