Advanced Utilities Overview

The advanced utilities give you control over tasks such as batch deletions, search and replace, and data import.

    Use the Data Import utility to bring records from outside sources into the Vision database.
  • Upload Adv Invoices
    Use the Upload Advantage Invoices utility to upload edited invoices that you created in Advantage. This is helpful for Advantage to Vision conversions.
  • Project Closeout Utility
    The Project Closeout utility closes out projects, phases, and tasks and transfers the closed-out information to either another project, phase, or task of the same type or to a special completed project, phase, or task number. Vision then deletes the closed-out project, phase, or task, and associated information, from the Vision database.
  • AR Paid Update Utility
    The AR Paid Update utility updates the Accounts Receivable table by recalculating the most recent period when each invoice was paid in full. On the Accounts Receivable Aged report, Vision compares this information to the current period to determine which invoices to show.
  • VO Paid Update Utility
    The VO Paid Update utility updates the voucher (VO) table by recalculating the most recent period when each voucher was paid in full.
  • EX Paid Update Utility
    The EX Paid Update utility updates the Employee Expenses (EX) table by recalculating the most recent period when each employee expense voucher was paid in full.
  • Refresh PRSummary Table Utility
    Use the Refresh PRSummary Table utility to calculate and save project summary information.
  • Refresh GLSummary Table Utility
    Use the Refresh GLSummary Table utility to calculate and save General Ledger information.
  • Refresh Inventory Utility
    Use the Refresh Inventory utility to refresh inventory quantities and the average cost for all inventory items.

    Use the Generate Configuration Package utility to generate Connect for Microsoft Outlook configuration packages. Configuration packages are XML files that contain information about how Connect for Microsoft Outlook Edition is configured.
  • Configuration Audit Purge Utility
    Use the Configuration Audit Purge utility to remove data from configuration log records. The purged areas are Roles, Users, Screen Designer Security, and Exchange Rates.
  • Create Contracts from Fees Utility
    Use the Create Contracts from Fees utility to create contracts based on the existing fee amounts for multiple projects at one time.
