Close Out Projects
When you close out projects, phases, or tasks, the utility transfers the closed-out information to a WBS element of the same type or to a special completed project, phase, or task number.
Prerequisites: Print a copy of the Project Progress report for each project that you plan to close. Back up your Vision database. To close out a project, the project must have the same task structure as the receiving project.
To close out projects:
- From the Vision Navigation menu, click .
- In the Receiving Project field on the Project Closeout form, click Search to search for and select the project number to which to close out the project.

In the
Project field, click
Lookup/Insert or
Insert to search for and select the appropriate project(s) to close.
The project number displays in the
Project field. The project's name displays in the
Name field.
- Click the name of the project to view the project record.
- To delete a project, select the project and click Delete.
- Click the name of the project to view the project record.

Select one of the following actions:
Option Description To run this utility manually Click Run. To schedule this utility to run on a regular basis via the process server Click Schedule and complete the information on the Schedule dialog box. Project <project number> is in a different organization than the receiving project. General Ledger postings will remain in the original organization.
You can continue to close out the project.
- Click Save.
