Create a New Task from an Existing Task

You can base a new task on an existing task.

To create a new task from an existing task, complete the following steps:

1. From the Vision Navigation menu, click Info Center > Projects.
2. On the Project Info Center form, open the project record.
3. Open the phase that contains the task.
4. Click New and select Copy Task from.
5. On the Create Task from dialog box, set the Copy from field to Existing Project and make the following selections:
   1. Click Search in the first Project field to open the Project lookup and select an existing project with phases.
   2. Click Search in the second Project field to open the Phase/Task lookup and select a phase.
   3. Click Search in the third Project field to open the Phase/Task lookup and select the task on which the new task will be based.
6. Complete the remaining fields on the Create Task from dialog box and click OK. Vision closes the dialog box and copies the task details into the record.
7. Enter a unique name and number and modify other task information on the tabs of the form.
8. Click Save.
