Text Editor Overview

Use the Text Editor to modify and format text that you enter in text box fields throughout Vision and in Vision Proposals.

Vision text box fields have labels such as Notes, Description, Comments, and Memo. You can enter text directly these fields.

To format the text as you enter or change it, click in the text box title bar and use the Text Editor dialog box. The Text Editor offers formatting features that are similar to those in standard word processing applications such as Microsoft Word.

Some of the things that you can do with the Text Editor include:

  • Check spelling
  • Enter text in a table
  • Center, left, or right justify text
  • Create a bulleted list

Text that you create with the Text Editor is saved in a Rich Text Format (RTF). This allows you to copy and paste text from any standard Windows application into Vision text box fields. Some Windows programs and Web pages have unique formatting and graphics options that Vision may not support. In these situations, you may have to reformat text that you copy and paste from other systems.

Your system administrator specifies the default font type and font size for the Text Editor dialog box on the Miscellaneous tab in Configuration > General > System Settings. Aside from the default font types, other font types on your computer are also available in the Text Editor. It is possible that some font types on your computer might not be available on other computers. Deltek recommends that you use font types that are available on other computers, to avoid formatting issues.
