Cost Groups Tab of Fee Estimate Groups

Use the Cost Groups tab to build a table of cost groups that are available for use with your firm's service profiles. Cost groups provide a more detailed break down of the work being performed. You can associate multiple cost groups with one functional group on a fee estimate.

Field Description
Cost Groups Drop-down

Click the drop-down arrow on a grid header to complete any of the following actions:

  • To print grid data, click Print. On the Print Preview form, click File > Print to send the grid data to your default printer.
  • To export grid data to an Excel spreadsheet, click Export to Excel. When Microsoft Excel opens, use its features to modify, print, or email the grid data, or to save the spreadsheet file locally.
  • To turn on grouping for a grid, click Enable Grouping. When a field displays with the instruction: "Drag a column header here to group by that column," drag and drop column headers into the field, in the sequence that you want them to display.

Not all options are available on all grids.

Insert Click this option to create a new cost group. The cost groups that you enter here will be available for selection when you build service profiles on the Cost Groups tab of Configuration > General > Fee Estimate Service Profiles.
Delete Click this option to delete an existing cost group. You cannot delete a cost group that is already assigned to a service profile.
Code Enter the code for your cost group. After you create and save a cost group, you can change the description information for that group, but you cannot change the group code. To change the group code, delete the cost group and add it to the grid again with the new code.
Description Enter a description for your cost group.
Disabled Select this option to disable a cost group. When you disable a cost group, it is not available for selection in a service profile, but remains enabled in fee estimates where previously used.
