Check Spelling in Text Editor

Use the spell checking function to check the spelling of the content that you entered in the Text Editor.

The spell checker in Text Editor can detect misspelled words as you type them. When a misspelled word is detected, a jagged red line appears under the word. You can click in the toolbar to check the spelling of all the words you have written in the Text Editor to fix any misspelled words.

To check spelling in Text Editor, complete the following steps:

1. Click . If there are no misspelled words in the Text Editor, a corresponding message will appear. If a misspelled word is detected by the spell checker, the Spelling dialog box opens.
2. You can perform a number of tasks in the Spelling dialog box. The options are:

   Option	Description
   Ignore Once	Ignore this occurrence of the error.
   Ignore All	Ignore all occurrences of the error.
   Add to Dictionary	Adds the misspelled word to the dictionary so that the spell checker will ignore it in the future and include it as a spelling suggestion.
   Change	Select one of the suggested spellings provided for the underlined word. Then click Change to modify the spelling for this occurrence of the error.
   Change All	Select one of the suggested spellings provided for the underlined word. Then click Change All to modify the spelling for all occurrences of the error.

   The spell checker prompts you after the process is complete.

Alternatively, you can right-click on the misspelled word to display a shortcut menu with spelling suggestions. Click the correct suggested word to replace the misspelled word.
