Use the Cost Distribution tab to specify the project, at its lowest level of work breakdown structure to which to charge an item's tax, shipping, and other costs. You can also use this grid to specify, for each project, whether the item cost is billable. If it is, you can view the committed expense at billing rates.
If the line item is an inventory item, this grid displays data from the Inventory Common Project.

Project

Enter a project number or click
to select a project from the Project lookup.
The
Restrict Charge Companies option on the Accounting Tab of the Project Info Center controls the content of the Project Lookup list.

Project Name
|
This column displays the project name of the selected project.
|
Phase
|
If the selected project has phases, click
and select the phase.

Phase Name
|
This column displays the name of the selected phase.
|
Task
|
If the selected phase has tasks, click
and select the task.

Task Name
|
This column displays the name of the selected task.
|
Billable
|
Select this option to add this item's cost to this project's billable costs.
If this item is transferred to a purchase order, you can calculate its billable committed expense at billing rates.

PCT
|
If you are dividing this item's cost among two or more projects, enter the percentage for this project.

Insert
|
Click this option to add a new row to the grid.
|
Copy
|
Click the row to copy, then click this option to copy it.
|
Delete
|
Click the row to delete, then click this option to delete it.
