Guidelines for User-Defined Fields and Analysis Cubes
You can select user-defined fields for data cubes in the Vision Analysis Cubes application.
The following guidelines apply:
- For optimum performance, Deltek recommends that you select no more than 21 user-defined fields per Vision application to populate the Vision data cubes.
- You cannot add columns from user-defined grids to the data cubes.
- The user-defined fields that you select to populate the Vision data cubes are not updated to the data cubes until a system administrator uses the Vision Resource Kit to update the Vision Project data cubes with the user-defined fields.
- If you clear the
Available for Analysis Cubes check box for a user-defined field after create reports with the user-defined field:
- A system administrator must use the Resource Kit to apply the changes in the Vision data cubes.
- Any reports that reference the removed user-defined field will produce an error. You must manually remove the user-defined fields from the reports.
- If you modify the label of a user-defined field on the Custom Fields tab of the User-Defined Components form and the field was previously in use and available in Analysis Cubes, a system administrator must use the Vision Resource Kit to update the Vision Project data cubes with a new label name. If you have custom report designs that included the old label name, you must refresh the report data, and then manually re-add the user-defined field with the new label to the report design.
