Work Breakdown Structures and Project Records
A Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) is a project management tool that you use to organize the various components of work required to complete a project.
A WBS divides your projects into work elements and collects and manages project data. When you create a project in Vision, you can also create a WBS for that project.
A project's WBS can consist of up to three levels:
- WBS Level 1 — Project
- WBS Level 2 — Phase
- WBS Level 3 — Task
You can create as many phases and tasks as needed for each project.
You create a project's WBS when you create a new project or when you use an existing record to create a new project.
You can change the default WBS labels to labels that are appropriate for your company or industry.
If you use the Multicurrency feature, you must specify a project currency for each project. All lower levels of the work breakdown structure must have the same project currency. You can specify a different currency as the project's billing currency. All lower levels of the work breakdown structure must have the same billing currency.
