Refresh Data in a Previously Saved Vision Custom Report

When you open a previously saved Excel Vision custom report (one that contains the report design, not just a copy of the report output), you must refresh and connect to the external Vision data cube to see the most current Vision data.

To refresh data, complete the following step:

Select one of the following actions:
  • To have a report refreshed and connected to the Vision data cube automatically whenever it is opened, select the Refresh data when opening the file check box on the Data tab of the PivotTable Options dialog box before you save the report file.
  • When working in a report, once you start a report action that requires access to the external Vision data cube, you receive a Microsoft Office Excel Security message that asks whether or not you trust the external data source and want to proceed. When you click OK to proceed, a connection to the Vision data cube is made and the report is refreshed.
  • When you open a report, connect to the Vision data cube and click the Options button beside the Security Warning located below the tabs and group. In the Security Alert - Data Connection dialog box, select the Enable this content option and click OK.
  • Connect to the Vision data cube by opening the Data tab, and from the Connections group, select Refresh All.
