Asset Management Configuration Overview

Asset Management is an optional Vision module that you use to track and process depreciation or amortization for asset items that you capitalize. Use Configuration > Asset Management to enter the system-wide configuration settings for the Asset Management application.

With Asset Management, you can manage an item over its entire life cycle and better assess the risks and overall performance when you make equipment decisions.

Asset Management works in conjunction with the Equipment Info Center. The Equipment Info Center stores the capital items that the Asset Management application tracks, calculates depreciation for, and provides data for in related reports.

In the Asset Management application, you:

• Process depreciation and amortization for asset items.
• Transfer or split asset items.
• Dispose of asset items.
• Review history and summary information for asset items.
