Assignments
|
Use the fields in this group box to select the date criteria for the assignments.
|
Dates
|
Select the range of dates in which you are searching for planned hours.
The first time you use Resource Utilization, Vision defaults the start date to today's date, and the end date to the end date of the fourth consecutive period.
The last date range determines the default dates in
Assignments each subsequent time you use Resource Utilization. Because you cannot leave these fields blank, if you remove the dates Vision enters the last date range as the default.
|
View By
|
The
View By option dictates how dates and values are reported for the Planned Start, Planned End, and Period columns. If your
View By selection differs from the plan's scale for the selected date range, Vision automatically calculates the values that display.
Select one of the
View By options (Day, Week, Month, and so on) to use as the interval on the Resource Utilization grid.

Plan and Project
|
These color codes help you identify billable and non-billable projects, as well as unmapped plans in the plan level rows on the Resource Utilization Search Results grid.
An unmapped plan has no entry in the
Top Project number field on the General tab in Project Planning. Any hours on an unmapped plan are treated as billable hours.

Employee Utilization/Employee Billing
|
This section shows the color codes for either Employee Utilization or Employee Billing, depending on whether you chose
All Planned or
Only Billable Planned on the Show tab. These color codes help you identify over, under, and properly utilized employees in the plan level rows on the Resource Utilization Search Results grid.
|
Resource Assignment
|
This section shows the color codes for Resource Assignments. These color codes help you identify hard booked, soft booked, and blended resource assignments in the plan level rows on the Resource Utilization Search Results grid.

Show Footnotes
|
Select this option to show plan footnotes below the Resource Utilization Search Results grid.
— This footnote indicates that the results for that column are specific to the selected date range.
* — This footnote indicates that the plan level row values do not sum to the value shown for the named or generic resource row where the asterisk displays. This could be caused by one or more of the following:
-
Plans that are not marked as
Included in Utilization and Project Reports display in the plan level rows. These values cause the totals on the plan level rows for the impacted columns to not reflect what is shown on the employee name or generic resource name rows since the resource name rows only report values for plans that are marked as included in utilization.
-
Plans that are marked as
Included in Utilization and Project Reports are filtered and do not display in the plan level rows.
-
Plans where soft booked hours are not included with hard booked hours. See
for more information.
If you cannot view the footnote in its entirety, close the menu and the search pane to increase the amount of available space beneath the grid.
