Deltek Vision - Create Lead Dialog Box

Use the Deltek Vision - Create Lead dialog box to enter, modify, or review a lead's name and address information, Web address, important notes, client type and status information. This information is saved in the Lead Info Center.

Location

To display the dialog box, complete the following steps:

  1. In the notification area of your Windows taskbar, right-click the Deltek Vision Quick Launch icon (), or click Deltek Vision on the toolbar of the Add-Ins tab in Outlook.
  2. Select Create Lead.

Field Description
Prefix Use the drop-down list in this field to select a prefix to be used with the lead's name.

You define prefix options using the Prefix Code Table in Code Table Configuration. See your system administrator for information about adding values to this list.

First Enter the lead’s first name.
Middle Enter the lead’s middle name or initial.
Last Enter the lead's last name.
Suffix Use the drop-down list in this field to select a suffix to be used with the lead's name.

You define suffix options using the Suffix Code Table in Code Table Configuration. See your system administrator for information about adding values to this list.

Preferred Enter the lead's preferred name, if applicable. For example, Kathleen A. Jones may prefer to be addressed as Kathy Jones.
Title Enter the lead's title (Director, Project Manager, or CEO, for example). You can select a tile from the drop-down list in this field. However, if the lead has a title not included in the list, you can enter the title directly in this field.

You define lead title options using the Contact Title Code Table in Code Table Configuration. See your system administrator for information about adding values to this list.

Company Enter the name of the company for which the lead currently works.

If you choose to qualify this lead at a later date, then the entry in this field is excluded from the resulting contact, client, or opportunity record. You must re-enter the lead's company in the resulting contact, opportunity, or client record.

Email Enter the lead's email address in this field. To modify a lead's email address, click .
Website Enter the Web site address of the lead’s company.

To modify a lead's Web address, right-click on it and click Edit, or click in this field.

Owner Enter the name of the employee at your firm who you want to associate with this lead.

You can enter an employee name directly in this field, use the Quick Find feature to select an employee from your database, or click and select an employee using the Employee Lookup.

Source Use the drop-down list in this field to select the source of the lead. If the source of the lead does not appear in the drop-down list, enter the source directly in this field.

Sources may include specific conferences, trade shows, or the names of referring clients.

You define source options using the Lead Source code table in Code Table Configuration. See your system administrator for information about adding values to this list.

Status Use the drop-down list in this field select the lead's current status (New or Disqualified, for example).

You define status options using the Lead Status code table in Code Table Configuration. See your system administrator for information about adding values to this list.

Status Reason Use the drop-down list in this field to select a reason for the lead's current status (Cannot contact, Lost, or Not Interested, for example).

In the case of disqualified leads, this field is useful for recording the reason why the lead was disqualified.

You define status reason options using the Lead Status Reason code table in Code Table Configuration. See your system administrator for information about adding values to this list.

Type Use the drop-down list in this field to select a type by which to classify the lead (Commercial, Government, or Non-Profit, for example).

You define lead type options using the Lead Type Code Table in Code Table Configuration. See your system administrator for information about adding values to this list.

You can group leads by type when running reports.

Rating Use the drop-down list in this field to select a rating for the lead's level of interest in your firm (Cold, Hot, or Warm, for example).

You define rating options using the Lead Rating code table in Code Table Configuration. See your system administrator for information about adding values to this list.

Record Status Use the drop-down list in this field to indicate whether the lead is Active or Inactive. A new lead record is Active by default.
Address 1, 2, 3 Enter the lead's address (street name and number, suite number, and P.O. box number, for example).
City Enter the city in which the lead's address is located.
State/Province Use the drop-down list in this field to select the state or province in which the lead's address is located. Vision filters the State/Province drop-down list for the country that is currently selected.
Zip/PostCode Enter the zip code or postal code for the lead's address.
Country Use the drop-down list in this field to select the country in which the lead's address is located. This field defaults to Vision's default country setting.
Bus. Phone Enter the lead's business telephone number.

Your Vision Administrator defines the format for your phone number entry. To select a different format, see the Insert Phone Numbers topic.

Bus. Fax Enter the lead's business fax number.

Mobile Enter the lead's cell telephone number.

Home Enter the lead's home telephone number.

Pager Enter the lead's pager number.
