Back Up the Vision Database

Use the Backup Database utility to make a full backup of the Vision database.

Prerequisite: Your SQL Server administrator must create a backup device before you use this utility.

If you use the Vision Transaction Document Management feature and you back up your Vision database, the FILESTREAM database is also backed up. See the Deltek Vision Advanced Technical Administration Guide for more information.

To back up the database:

1. From the Vision Navigation menu, click Utilities > Backup Database.
2. On the Backup Database dialog box, select a backup device from the drop-down list.
3. To initialize the device before the backup is made, select the Initialize Backup Device option. Vision empties the backup device so that the only backup on the device will be the one you are creating. You can have more than one backup device on the database server.
4. Click Backup.
