Add a Functional Group for Fee Estimates
You can add functional groups that will be available for use when you build service profiles for fee estimates.
Functional groups are required when creating a fee estimate in the Opportunity Info Center or the Accounting application.
To add a functional group:
- From the Vision Navigation menu, click .
- Click the Functional Group tab.
- On the grid toolbar, click Insert.

In the
Code field, enter a code for the functional group.
This field works in conjunction with the
Create Project from a Fee Estimate
menu option in . When you create a new
project from a fee estimate, you can apply the fee estimate's structure to create a Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) for the new
project. Enter the number of characters in the
Code field to match the selected level of the WBS.
After you create and save a functional group, you cannot change the code. To change the functional group code, delete the functional group and add it to the grid again with the new code.
- In the Description field, enter the functional group description. After you create and save a functional group, you can change the description information for that group.
- Click Save.
