Modify an SF254 Template Set to Create a New Template Set

Vision is installed with a set of default merge templates for SF254 proposals. You cannot edit the default templates directly, but you can save them with a new name, export the re-named template set, or pages from the set, to Microsoft Word, and edit them in Word.

When the renaming procedure is complete, you must update the SF254 Template Editor dialog box with the modified templates. This update procedure makes them available for merging your SF254 proposal.

To make a modified merge template set, you save the default template set with a new name.

To make a modified merge template set, complete the following steps:

1. Click Edit , Template Editor.
2. On the Template Editor dialog box, click Save As.
3. Enter a Name and Description for the new template set, then click OK.
4. Select the template page to modify, then click Export.
5. On the File Download dialog box, click Save.
6. On the Save As dialog box, enter a filename with no spaces.
7. Open the template in Microsoft Word and modify it. You can replace merge codes during this modification procedure.
8. Save the template and close it.
9. On the Template Editor dialog box, select the template page that best suits this modified template.
10. Click Update.
11. Select the modified template.
12. Click Close.

After you make a modified merge template set, you can change the fonts or layout, add non-standard Project merge codes, and so on.
