Field Description
Leave Cycle Code

Enter the leave cycle code. Each active employee must be assigned to one of these leave cycles on the Manage Employee Information screen. You can establish an unlimited number of leave cycles and use a maximum of four alphanumeric characters to define this code.

Description

Enter information that describes the purpose of the leave cycle.

Details

Field Description
Frequency

From the drop-down list, select the frequency type of the leave cycle. The valid frequency types are:

  • Bi-Weekly: Two weeks in the leave period (14 days)
  • Monthly: Leave period ending at the end of the month
  • Semi-Monthly: Leave periods ending on the 15th and end of month
  • Weekly: One week in the leave period (seven days)
Max Regular Hours

Enter the maximum number of hours that Costpoint uses to determine the accrued leave during the leave period when the leave code is based on regular (non-overtime) hours worked (that is, if the Compute Method is H on the Configure Leave Codes screen). Costpoint determines the accrued leave amount by multiplying the leave accrual rate (on the Configure Leave Codes screen) by the timesheet regular hours or the value in this field, whichever is less.

Enter 999,999,999,999.99 if there is no limit on the number of regular work hours that can be used to calculate the leave accrual when the Compute Method is H.

Add Leave Periods

Use the fields in this group box to provide the data that Costpoint uses to automatically fill in the Leave Period table.

Field Description
Leave Year

Use this field to designate the Leave Year you wish to add to the Leave Period table. This field is optional and works with the Number of Leave Periods, First End Date, and Last End Date fields. It relates to the automatic filling of the Leave Period table with the specified number of leave periods.

Number of Periods

Enter the number of leave periods to be automatically filled in the Leave Period table. This field is optional and works with the First End Date field. This feature calculates the leave period start and end dates and automatically fills in the Leave Period table. Select Add to activate this feature, in conjunction with this field and the First End Date field.

Refrain from adding more periods than there are in your leave year (defined in the Leave Year to be Added field), or you may have the wrong leave year assigned to some of the leave periods.

First End Date

Enter, or click to select, the date that is the starting point for the Leave Period table. Costpoint uses the Frequency and Number of Leave Periods fields to calculate the dates for each period and adds them to the table. If entries already exist in the table, Costpoint adds the additional entries immediately following the most recent leave period end date. The dates in one leave period must not overlap with dates in another leave period and the periods must be sequential and dates cannot be skipped.

Last End Date

This non-editable field displays the last period end date that Costpoint places in the table when you click the Add Leave Period button. The system derives this value from the Number of Leave Periods, the First End Date, and the Frequency fields.

Compute Last End Date

Click this button to calculate the last end date.

Add Leave Periods

Click this button to insert entries into the Leave Periods table. First fill in the Number of Leave Periods, the First End Date, and the Leave Year fields, then click this button to add the new periods to the Leave Periods table.
