Field Description
Termination Reason Code Enter up to 35 characters that uniquely identify and represent the termination reason. If you are using Deltek Talent Management, a termination reason code must be assigned to a terminated employee in the Employment History subtask on the Manage Employee Information screen. If you are not using Deltek Talent Management, termination reason codes are optional.
Termination Reason Description Enter up to 255 characters to describe the reason for the termination.
Termination Type

From the drop-down list, select the type of termination of the employee. Valid options are Voluntary or Involuntary.

This value will be used to filter the available termination reasons when entering offboarding information for an employee in the Employment History subtask on the Manage Employee Information screen. For example, if you specify that the Termination Type is Voluntary, you will only be able to select a termination type that is flagged as Voluntary in this screen.

If you use Deltek Talent Management, this termination type will be exported with an employee’s other offboarding information.

Talent Management Termination Reason Code

Enter the Deltek Talent Management termination reason that maps to the Costpoint termination reason. If you use Deltek Talent Management, a Deltek Talent Management termination reason code must be linked to the Costpoint termination code in order to assign the Costpoint termination code to an employee in the Employment History subtask on the Manage Employee Information screen. The mapped Deltek Talent Management termination code will be exported to Deltek Talent Management along with the terminated employee’s other offboarding information.

The same Deltek Talent Management termination reason code cannot be assigned to more than one active Costpoint termination reason code.

If you are not using Deltek Talent Management, the Talent Management Termination Reason Code field will be disabled.

Inactive Date Enter, or click to select, the date on which the termination reason code becomes inactive and can no longer be assigned to an employee. The termination reason code cannot be assigned to an employee if his/her termination date occurs after the date in the Inactive Date field.
