General Options Tab

Use this tab to select text, phone, and postal codes formats, permission for benefits enrollment to rollover to the next year, permission to allow updates to direct deposit information, and which Total Comp/Benefits to display.

Field Description
Text Format

Use the drop-down box to select one of the following options:

  • No Formatting: Text fields are saved to the database as the user enters them
  • Uppercase: Text fields are converted to uppercase when saved to the database, enforcing data entry in the Employee Self Service screens to UPPERCASE.
  • Proper Case: Text fields are converted to proper case, with the first letter of each word capitalized when saved to the database

Phone Format

Select a format for how to display telephone numbers in the applicable screens. (Applicable screens include:  Address/Telephone, Emergency Contacts, and Dependents/Beneficiaries.)  Choose from the following options:

  • No Formatting
  • (000) 000-0000
  • 000-000-0000
  • 000.000.0000
  • 000/000-0000

Postal Format

Select a radio button to tell the system how to display postal codes in the applicable screens. (Applicable screens include:  Address/Telephone, Emergency Contacts, and Dependents/Beneficiaries.)  Choose from the following options:

  • No Formatting
  • 00000
  • 00000-0000

Benefits Enrollment

Field Description
Allow Rollover Capability

Select this check box to enable employees to carryover their current benefit elections to next year.  

When you select Allow Rollover Capability, a check box appears next to each benefit listed on the Current Elections page.

When users select these check boxes, the associated benefits are carried over to the next year without change. This reduces the number of steps required to complete the benefit enrollment process

Direct Deposit

Field Description
Allow Update of Current Accounts

If you select this check box, employees will be able to make updates to current account information. Current accounts are bank accounts that are currently in use.

Allow Updates of Pending Accounts

If you select this check box, employees will be able to make updates to pending account information.  Pending accounts are bank accounts that are currently in pre-note status.

Total Comp/Benefits

Use these check boxes to tell the system which tables to display on the Total Comp/Benefits Statement screen. On the Total Comp/Benefits Statement screen, you can view a total compensation summary that lists such things as your annual salary, leave benefits etc. You can also view your benefit elections and their coverage level, as well as employee/employer costs.

Select this check box to display the Total Compensation Summary on the Total Comp/Benefits Statement screen.  

Show Benefit Elections

Select this check box to display Benefit Elections on the Total Comp/Benefits Statement screen.

Medical FSA

Field Description
Show 'Limited Purpose' checkbox

Select this check box to display the Limited Purpose check boxes on the Medical FSA screens for life events and benefits enrollment.
