Advance Tab (Subtask)

Use this tab to view details about an existing advance or to request an advance.

You cannot request an advance if the following conditions are true:

  • Your expense class does not allow you to request advances.
  • You have previously requested an advance for this authorization and have not yet claimed it on an expense report.
  • You have reached the maximum outstanding advance amount for your expense class.
  • You have reached the maximum number of outstanding advances allowed for your expense class.
  • This is a blanket authorization, which has already been closed.
  • The expense authorization has already been processed.

In Expert mode, Advance displays as a subtask on the Purpose tab. In Wizard mode, it displays as a tab in the left navigation if it applies to the authorization.

Field Description
Advance ID

This field displays the ID that was assigned to the advance.

Currency

This field displays the type of currency for the advance, for instance, US Dollars (USD).

Amount

This field displays the amount requested.

Date Needed

This field displays the date by which the advance is needed.

Reason

This field displays the stated reason for the advance.

Status

This field displays the current status of the advance, which will be any of the following:

  • Draft
  • Submitted
  • Under Review
  • Approved
  • Rejected
  • Processed
  • Voided
Submit

Click Submit to sign the expense authorization.

Exit In Wizard mode, click this to exit without saving the draft.
Back In Wizard mode, click this to return to the previous tab.
Continue In Wizard mode, click this to continue to the next tab.
