Field Description
Training Code

Click and enter a training code to uniquely identify this training.  If you would like to limit the assignment of training to employees with only certain detail job titles, you may link the training code to one or more detail job titles in the Eligible Detail Job Titles subtask in this screen. If you do not want to limit this training to certain detail job titles, then do not populate the Eligible Detail Job Titles subtask for the training code.  The Detail Job Title Validation Method drop-down list should be used to specify whether or not you want to provide an error message, warning message or no message if a user attempts to assign an ineligible detail job title to an employee.

The training codes can be used by both employees and vendor employees. If you have multiple companies in your Costpoint database, the training code will be accessible and usable by all companies.

Training Description

Enter a description of the training code. This is a required field.

CEU Credits

Enter the number of CEU credits, if they apply to this training code. CEU Credits cannot be less than 0.00. This is an optional field.

Detail Job Title Validation Method

From the drop-down list, select whether an error, warning or no message should display if the training code is assigned to an employee whose detail job title is not in the list on the Eligible Detail Job Titles subtask. The validation will be based on the detail job title assigned to the employee as of the training start date. Valid options are:

  • No Validation: Select this option if the training code should not be validated against an employee’s detail job title. If you select this option, the training code can be assigned to any employee and any detail job titles linked to the training code in the Eligible Detail Job Titles table will be ignored
  • Warning: Select this option if users should receive a warning message if they assign the training code to an employee whose detail job title is not linked in the Eligible Detail Job Titles subtask. If you select this option, you should specify the eligible detail Job titles in the Eligible Detail Job Titles subtask. However, it is not a required step.
  • Error: Select this option if users should receive an error message if they attempt to assign the training code to an employee whose detail job title is not linked in the Eligible Detail Job Titles subtask. If you select this option, you must specify the eligible detail job titles in the Eligible Detail Job Titles subtask.
