Initiating a Workflow Case

This topic explains how to initiate Deltek-defined workflow, such as AP Processing, A/R Procedures.

A Deltek-defined workflow is predefined by Costpoint and ready for use. You need only to assign roles and user IDs for routing. Several of the predefined workflows already have roles associated with them. Because activities can be deleted, added, or changed, you can customize predefined workflows to fit your needs.

To initiate a workflow case:

  1. Go to Admin > Workflow > Workflow Cases > Manage Workflow Cases.
  2. In the Workflow field, enter, or click to select, a workflow that was set up in the Manage Workflow Models.
  3. Click Autoload Case Labels.
  4. Click to save and initiate the workflow case.
    The user assigned to the first activity will receive a notification with a URL for the first task in the workflow.
    Note: Costpoint Trigger workflow types are initiated automatically when a Costpoint function occurs. For example, when a requisition approval is necessary, an STD - Requisition Approval workflow is initiated.
