Assign Dependents to Benefit Plans

All of the dependents entered on the Manage Employee Dependents/Beneficiaries screen are automatically enrolled in a medical plan according to the rules of the plan.

You can use this screen to link employees, benefit plans, and dependents together to override the default enrollment in medical insurance plans.

To assign a dependent to a benefit plan on this screen, you must first:

  • Link the dependent with the employee on the Manage Employee Dependents/Beneficiaries screen.
  • Select the Dependent or Both option in the Type group box on the Manage Employee Dependents/Beneficiaries screen.

You cannot assign dependents to benefit plans until you complete the Manage Employee Dependents/Beneficiaries screen. After setting up that screen, you can add to this screen at any time, and enter an unlimited number of records.
