Create a New Approval Workflow Model

To minimize errors when you enter a new approval workflow model on the Approval Workflow Models screen, follow the logical order listed here.

To create a new approval workflow model:

  1. Enter parameters on the header section.
  2. Click the Approval Entity Fields subtask and enter field values.
  3. Optional. If you have selected the Require Code for Rejection check box on the header section, click the Workflow Reject Codes subtask and enter field values.
  4. Click the Application Screens subtask and enter field values.
  5. Assign entity fields to application screen fields using the Approval Screen Fields subtask of the Application Screens subtask. You may opt to click the Load All Screen Fields button to load all available screen fields of the result set, and enter/select the entity fields to map to these screen fields.
    Note: Make sure to map entity key fields to screen fields with the Key check box selected. Failure to do so triggers a validation message to display when you activate the approval workflow model or set it in test mode (step 9).
  6. Click .
  7. On the Approval Steps table window, add steps (nodes and activities) to your workflow using the Add Step subtask.
  8. If necessary, edit the nodes and/or activities using the Edit Activity and/or Edit Node subtask.
  9. On the main screen, click the Test Mode check box to set the approval workflow model in test mode, or click Activate to activate the approval workflow model.

The View Approval Cases and Import/Export subtasks on this screen are for maintenance purposes.
