Use the General tab to enter and edit data for a purchase requisition. The tab displays data to identify the purchase requisition, and a grid where you enter and keep data for the item(s) in the purchase requisition.

Field | Description |
Requisition Number

This field displays the number that Vision assigns to the requisition.

Date
|
This field displays today's date. To specify a different date, enter it into the field, or click
and select the date for the requisition.

Requested By
|
This field displays your name. To specify a different requester, click
and select the employee who is requesting this requisition.
|
Status
|
This field displays the purchase requisition's status.
|
Closed
|
If this check box is selected, the requisition is closed.
To close a requisition, click
on the toolbar.
|
Currency Code
|
Select the currency to use for this purchase requisition. The list displays the currencies that are available for use in your company.
|
Authorized By
|
This field displays the name of the employee who approved the purchase requisition.
|
Items Grid
Use the Items grid to enter data about the line items in a purchase requisition. Click an item's grid line to show more data about the item on the Purchase Requisition Line Detail dialog box. Before you can send a requisition to an approver, it must have a minimum of one line item in this grid.
If you enter an item that is not in Vision's Items list, and
Automatic Add/Items is selected on the General tab of
, Vision displays a notice that tells you the item was not found. The notice asks if you want to add the item to the list. If you click
Yes, Vision displays the New Item dialog box. This procedure is informally known as adding an item "on-the-fly." You add the item on the dialog box, and it is not necessary to navigate to
.

This field displays the item's
Last Price.

This field displays the total cost for this item.

This field displays the date calculated as

This check box is selected if the item is an inventory item.

View Detail
|
Select the item's grid row, then click
to open the Purchase Requisition Line Detail dialog box.
You can instead click the item's grid row to open the dialog box.

Insert
|
Click this option to add a new row in the grid.

Copy
|
Click the row to copy, then click this option to add a copy of the selected row to the grid.

Delete
|
Click the row to delete, then click this option to delete the selected row from the grid.
