Vision SF254 and SF255 Proposals are each installed with a set each of default merge templates. Merge templates are Rich Text File (.rtf) documents. They have BLOB codes that get data from the
Vision database and insert it into the proposal.
When modifying a 254 or 255 merge template set, you can replace one or more of the BLOB codes with non-standard merge codes.
When replacing BLOB codes on a modified merge template:
-
You can have a mix of BLOB and non-standard merge codes on the same merge template, but each row on that merge template must contain the same mix.
-
To mark the end of each replacement, put an
[End]
code before each BLOB code that remains in the merge template.
-
Deltek recommends that you redesign all rows on a template, even if you do not plan to use all of them.
For example, the
S5Consult merge template has eight rows. Although you may make a different merge template for a proposal that shows three consultants, the template is kept in the database for use in other proposals.
