Generic Resources Setup Overview

Use Generic Resources Setup options to establish the default, system-wide setup for the use of generic resources in Vision Resource Management.

Generic resources are placeholders that represent categories of employees (for example, principal, architect, engineer, or geologist). You can assign generic resources to WBS elements until you have identified actual employees who are responsible for tasks.

In Planning Configuration, you set up the generic categories of employees that you will use when you create your plans.
