Enable Unicode Utility

Unicode is a database implementation that supports the entry and storage of characters from languages other than English and most European languages. If necessary, use the Enable Unicode utility to enable Unicode for your database.

Unicode is a more costly database implementation in terms of disk space requirements and performance, so, for these reasons, Deltek's default database implementation is not Unicode.

In general, Deltek anticipates that a Unicode implementation will be required only for firms needing to enter and store East Asian language characters, such as Chinese, Japanese, and Korean. However, even some European languages, such as Greek, also require Unicode.
