Checklist: Setting Up General Ledger Budgeting
Before you use General Ledger Budgeting to monitor your general ledger budgets, you must perform certain setup steps to make the data available for reporting. The General Ledger Budgeting form offers you many options for creating new general ledger budgets.
The following checklist describes the process of creating a new general ledger budget using General Ledger Budgeting. Perform the following steps in the order listed. If desired, print this topic and check off each step as completed.

1 | Create a new budget, or open an existing budget. |
2 | Enter the accounts to be budgeted, or import accounts to be budgeted. |
3 | Copy amounts from the Income Statement, Balance Sheet, or another budget. |
4 | Enter a reference budget. |
5 | Distribute the annual amount evenly, or distribute the annual amount by period. |
6 | Compound the annual budget. |
7 | Adjust the annual budget, if necessary. |
8 | Monitor your budget using the Profit Planning Monitor. |
