The Rate Times Multiplier method calculates labor billings based on the employee’s job cost rate (specified on the General tab of the Employee Info Center). You can apply up to three multipliers to the job cost rate.
Rate tables are not used with this method.
Calculation
The billing extension is calculated as:
Extension = Hours * Cost Rate * Multiplier(s)
Determination of Rate
If you define an Override Table to be used with the project, and the employee appears in the table, Vision uses the employee’s rate specified in the table.
- If the override rate type is Billing, no multipliers are applied to the rate.
- If the override rate type is Cost, each non-zero multiplier is applied to the rate.
- If the override rate type is Cost Maximum, Vision selects either the employee’s job cost rate (in effect at the time of posting) or the override rate, whichever is lower. Then, each non-zero multiplier is applied.
If you do not specify an override table for the project or the employee does not appear in the project’s override table, Vision uses the employee’s job cost rate that was in effect at the time of posting.
