Welcome to the Deltek Vision Help System
The Deltek Vision help system provides help for all areas of the Vision application. You launch the help system from links in Vision. Each section of the help contains all of the help topics for one application, such as the Info Center or Reporting.
The help system provides the following types of topics:

| Procedures | Procedure topics provide step-by-step instructions for completing tasks. |
| Field Descriptions | At the form and dialog box level, reference topics contain tables of field descriptions. These topics describe data entry requirements for each field and the effects of each option. |
| Concepts | Concept topics explain the underlying concepts that drive Vision’s various business processes. |
| Checklists | Checklist topics provide lists of procedures that you must perform sequentially to complete complex processing functions, such as intercompany billing. |
| Overviews | Overview topics introduce an application, feature, or process. |

Understanding the functionality and logic in Vision will help you get started with performing the tasks that you need to complete. - Concepts Overview
Before you implement and use Vision, it is important to understand the fundamental principles of the application. The Concepts documentation gives you a basic understanding of the principles behind the transactions, processes, and activities that are vital to the work that you perform in Vision. - Dashboard Overview
The Dashboard is your opening screen and "portal" into Vision. Use the Dashboard to create a personalized view of your business world. - User Options Overview
You can establish settings in
User Options that apply only to you, such as your startup settings or printer preferences.
- Text Editor Overview
Use the
Text Editor to modify and format text that you enter in text box fields throughout
Vision and in
Vision Proposals.
- Schedule Dialog Box
Use the Schedule dialog box to schedule a process or report to run at a later time. This dialog box is available in applications for which you can use process servers, such as Reporting. The fields and options that display on the dialog box vary, depending on which application you are using when you click
Schedule.
- Info Center Overview
Use the Info Center to manage all of your business-related data. This is where you add new records, edit, copy, or delete records, or link records to external documents. Use audit trail reports to review changes made to the data records. - Calendar and Activities Overview
A key component of lead follow-up, opportunity tracking, and project management is the ability to schedule activities and link those activities to your client, contact, lead, marketing campaign, employee, opportunity, and project records. Your activities can include phone calls, meetings, tasks, and other important business functions. - Proposals Overview
Use Vision Proposals to create custom proposals as well as SF330, SF254, and SF255 proposals. - Planning Overview
Use Vision Planning to construct and manage resource plans for opportunities and projects. In Planning, you provide performance and utilization data at project levels and Vision consolidates this information so that project managers can run their jobs effectively and department leaders can allocate their resources properly. - Billing Overview
Billing makes it possible for you to bill labor, expenses, fees, and units in all industry-standard formats; process, modify, approve, accept, and print invoices; and generate billing-related reports. - Transaction Center Overview
Use the Transaction Center to enter and maintain data for transactions such as disbursements, expenses, invoices, and vouchers. - Accounting Overview
Use the Accounting application to track your firm’s day-to-day financial activity. You can also generate reports that help you assess project and firm-wide financial performance. - Human Resources Overview
In Vision's Human Resources module you work with payroll information, set parameters for importing and exporting payroll data to third-party applications, and set options for processing benefit hour accruals and adjustments. - Time and Expense Overview
Use the two applications in Vision Time and Expense, Timesheet and Expense Report, to record your time and expense charges and submit them for processing. - Purchasing Overview
Use the Purchasing application to keep electronic records of both internal and project-related procurement and receiving of services, materials, supplies, and capital items. Your firm can use Purchasing whether you have a central purchasing office or perform purchasing work in many different offices. - Inventory Overview
Use the Inventory application to control and track the items marked as inventory. - Reporting Overview
Reporting offers you a wide range of reports that present information about all aspects of your data, including projects, clients, and employees. The reports come with a set of default formatting options, which you may keep or change. - Utilities Overview
Vision includes a set of utilities, available from the Utilities menu, that perform maintenance, setup, data import and other functions in your Vision database. - Deltek
Vision Microsoft Office® Integration
Microsoft® Office Integration makes it possible to integrate Vision information with Microsoft Word®, Microsoft PowerPoint®, and Microsoft Outlook®. - Configuration Overview
Your system administrator uses configuration options to set up Vision for all users.
