Open New Period Dialog Box

Use the Open New Period dialog box to open a new accounting period. If you have multiple companies, the new period is created for all companies, but you have the option to open it for all companies or just for the currently active company.

Location

To display the dialog box, complete the following step:

From the Vision Navigation menu, click Utilities > Open New Period.

Field	Description
Open for All Companies	If Vision is configured to support multiple companies, select this option to open the new period for all companies. If Vision is configured for a single company, this option is not available.
Open for Active Company Only	If Vision is configured to support multiple companies, select this option to open the new period for the currently active company only. The new period is created for all companies but it remains closed for all other companies until you use the Period Setup utility to open it for them. If Vision is configured for a single company, this option is not available.
Current Period	For the currently active period, this section displays the accounting period and fiscal year, the accounting period start and end dates, and the fiscal year start and end dates.
New Period	For the new period, this section displays the accounting period and fiscal year, the default accounting period start and end dates, and the default fiscal year start and end dates. If necessary, you can enter or select different dates.
