Reopen a Defect

You use the Bulk Edit feature to reopen closed defects if they have not been rectified correctly. When you reopen a defect, it is sent back to the person it was originally allocated to.

Note: To reopen multiple defects in one operation you can use the Bulk Edit feature. For information, see Update Multiple Defects.

To reopen a defect:

  1. Navigate to the project.
    You can search for projects using the Search Projects link in the Activity Zone. Projects that you are linked to also appear on the History tab on your contact record, and in the Projects dashpart in the Personal Zone.
  2. Click either the Snagging or Punch Lists tab, depending on your territory.
    If the Snagging or Punch Lists tab is not visible on the header band, click more to display additional menu items.
  3. Click Search to display all defects for the project.
    If there are many defects, you can apply one or more filters, including work package, status, type, location group, or location. You can also click Extra Filters to apply additional filters, such as defect type, recipient, organization, and several date options.
  4. Select the check box of each defect that you want to reopen and then click Bulk Edit.
  5. On the Bulk Edit window, from the Edit Action list, select Re-open Snag or Re-open Item, depending on your territory.
  6. In the Comments field, enter some notes, such as the reason for reopening the defects.
  7. Click Save Changes.
