Publish Batches of Snapshots of Unmanaged Documents

You can publish batches of snapshots of unmanaged documents to PIM to PIM. Snapshots are read-only copies of working files that you can share with project members without compromising the original files. Each time you create a subsequent snapshot of a file, the version number within PIM increments, so you can easily track changes to files over time.

To publish batches of snapshots of unmanaged documents:

  1. Navigate to the project.
You can search for projects using the Search Projects link in the Activity Zone. Projects that you are linked to also appear on the History tab on your contact record, and in the Projects dashpart in the Personal Zone.
  2. Click the Documents tab, and then go to the unmanaged folder that contains the files.
  3. Select the check box of each file that you want to publish a snapshot from, and then click Snapshot Publish on the toolbar.
  4. If the Publish Snapshots dialog box displays, do either of the following:
    • Click Yes to publish the snapshots to the same locations and attributes as they were previously published to. This option completes the publish process.
    • Click No to change where the snapshots get published to, and then proceed to the next step.
Note: The Publish Snapshots dialog box only displays if all of the selected files have been published as snapshots before. If one or more files have not yet had their snapshots published to PIM, you will be prompted to select a location to publish the files to.
  5. On the Snapshot Publish Documents window, select the locations and attributes that you want to publish the snapshots to.
Note: If any of the files have been previously published as snapshots to different locations and attributes, the publish locations and attributes will be overwritten to match the options you select here.

Files that have been snapshotted display a link icon to indicate that a snapshot exists . You can access links to snapshots when you view the summary details.
