Add an Entity Contact Security Definition

You can add a security definition based on a contact role and an entity type.

For an example of an entity contact security definition, see Security Providers.

To add security definition based on a contact role and entity type:

  1. On the header bar, click Admin.
  2. In the Search Admin Zones field at the top, enter DMS Security Definitions.
  3. Click the DMS Security Definitions link that displays.
  4. On the DMS Security Definitions page, click .
  5. On the Add Security Definition window, from the Provider list, select Entity Contact.
  6. From the Entity Class list, select an entity class.
  7. Optional: To also link the security to a particular classification, use the Classification list to select a classification.
When you link a security definition to a classification, it adds an additional restriction to who can access the documents in a document pool. For example, if you set up a security definition against the project entity class for a selected role, and you select a specific region as the classification, only project members with the selected role that work on projects within the selected region can access the documents.
  8. Do one of the following:
    • To link the security definition to any contact role, click the Any Contact Association slider to toggle it on.
    • To link the security definition to a single contact role, select the role from the list of roles.
  9. Click Save.
