Important Notes

When you choose to implement either the SMTP Relay or Azure SMTP Client mail flows, you should be aware of a subtle but significant change in how your emails are delivered to recipients.

In contrast to using the default local SMTP mail flow option, emails sent through the SMTP Relay and Azure SMTP Client providers will always appear to originate from the mailbox account associated with your system, rather than the logged-in user, who may be sharing a document from the Document Management System (DMS).

However, in cases where an email is sent in a user's context, the logged-in user will be specified as the Reply To address. This approach is designed to mitigate the risk of emails being incorrectly identified as spoofed or spam messages, enhancing the overall security and reliability of your email communications.
