Coding Scheme Fragment Types
The following fragment types are available when you create a document coding scheme:
Field | Description |
---|---|
Fixed Text | Appends fixed text to document titles. You must define the fixed text in the Fixed Text column when you select this fragment type. |
Current Date | Appends the current date to document titles. |
Variable Date | Enables users to select a date to append to document titles. |
User Entered Text | Enables users to enter free text to append to document titles. |
Entity Based Code | Enables users to select a record name to append to document titles. You must select a record type from the Entity Class list when you select this fragment type.
When a user publishes a document to a document pool that is linked to this type of coding scheme, and links a record of the same type as the selected attribute type, the name of the record is automatically appended to the document title. For example, if you select the Project entity class for a fragment, when a user publishes a document and links a specific project as an attribute, the project number is appended to the document title. Note that users can override this option when they publish documents. |
Entity Based Sequential Number | Appends a sequential number to document titles, based on a specific entity. When you select this fragment type, you must select a record type from the Entity Class list, enter a format in the Format field, and then select a scheme from the Code Root list.
For example, if you select Project as the entity class, and enter 000 in the Format field, it will add 000 to the tile of the first document that is published against a project, and this will increment to 001, then 002, and so on, when additional documents are published. Note that the numbering scheme in this case is based on individual projects. This means that when you publish a document against a different project, it restarts the numbering at 000. |
Scheme Based Sequential Number | Appends a sequential number to document titles, based on an existing scheme that has been created in the Entity Class Code Roots tab of the Manage Entity Lookups list editor. When you select this fragment type, you must select a scheme from the Code Root list, and then enter a format in the Format field. When documents are published to a document pool that has a coding scheme with a selected code root, the document title number increments sequentially. |
