You can publish a snapshot of an unmanaged document to
PIM. Snapshots are read-only copies of working files that you can share with project members without compromising the original files. Each time you create a subsequent snapshot of a file, the version number within
PIM increments, so you can easily track changes to files over time.
To publish a snapshot of an unmanaged document:
-
Navigate to the project.
You can search for projects using the
Search Projects link in the
Activity Zone. Projects that you are linked to also appear on the History tab on your contact record, and in the Projects dashpart in the
Personal Zone.
-
Click the Documents tab, and then go to the unmanaged folder that contains the file.
-
Click
for the file that you want to publish a snapshot from.
-
On the Snapshot Publish Documents window, select the locations and attributes that you want to publish the snapshot to.
If a snapshot already exists for the file, the same locations and attributes are pre-selected. You can choose to keep the same options or you can modify them.
-
Click
Publish.
Files that have been snapshotted display a link icon to indicate that a snapshot exists
. You can access a link to the snapshot when you view the summary details.
