PIM Email Management Users
This section of the help provides information for users of the PIM email management solution only, such as Deltek integrated ERP users. Th email-only solution provides limited features, and is solely designed for managing emails and document attachments.
Deltek PIM provides a central place in which to securely manage your company's email communications. The PIM Outlook Add-in enables you to publish emails and attachments to the PIM document management system, and link them to specific records, such as organizations, contacts, opportunities, projects, and campaigns. You can search for emails across projects from the PIM Information Zone, group collections of emails and documents in baskets, and share important emails with colleagues.
Personal Zone
The Personal Zone is your own space which you can customize to display relevant content via dashparts.
Dashparts are information widgets that provide quick access to content that is relevant to you. The following dashparts are available:
Dashpart | Description |
---|---|
Favorites | Access projects, opportunities, organizations, contacts, and campaigns that you have added as favorites. |
Baskets | Access baskets that you have created, and baskets that have been shared with you. |
Quick Entity Search | Search for specific entity records, including projects, organizations, contacts, opportunities, and campaigns. |
Recent Documents | Access emails and documents that have been recently uploaded to PIM, grouped by entity record. You can also access emails and documents that you have recently published, read, received, and sent to the recycle bin. |
To add a dashpart to your Personal Zone, click to open the Manage Dashparts dialog box. Dashparts that are not currently displayed in your Personal Zone display next to the name. Click a dashpart to add or remove it from your Personal Zone.
Activity Zone
The Activity Zone provides access to several quick find options - projects, opportunities, contacts, organizations, and campaigns. You can also reset your password.
Information Zone
The Information Zone provides access to emails and documents that have been published to PIM. Documents and emails are stored in document pools, and each document or email can be published to multiple document pools.
Within the Information Zone, the following modes are available:
Mode | Description |
---|---|
Document Mode | Use this mode to find and manage emails and documents that have been published to the PIM document management system. You can search for emails and documents by text and apply one or more filters to help you to narrow down your search results. |
Basket Mode | Use this mode to view and manage your baskets. Baskets are used to collect related emails and documents so that you can easily access them. For example, you might create a basket to store all email communications and attachments related to a specific project that you are working on, which you can then share with other project members. |
Email Mode | Use this mode to focus only on published emails in the document management system. Like the Document Mode, you can search for emails by text and apply one or more filters to narrow down your search results. |
